Irgendwo zwischen Rock, Funk, Latin und Jazz bewegen sich Umami - und kleiden sich dabei trotzdem stets in ein tanzbares Pop-Gewand. Emily Ferri, Konstantin Sorko, Nicolas Ledun, Pablo Pardo und Marcell Bodó sehen darin nicht den geringsten Widerspruch. Auf Text-und Musik-Ebene verarbeiten sie schöne, seltsame, traurige und witzige Beobachtungen ihrer Um- und Innenwelt. Dabei schöpfen sie aus jenem modernen Retrosound, der die Zuhörer*innen in eine warme, wenn auch manchmal melancholische, Nostalgie-Wolke packt.
